JAMES AND KAREN TURNER

I have been a member of the Mercedes-Benz Club since 1992 when I started to regularly change my cars for Mercedes Benz cars. In that time I have owned 12 models, my first being a Mercedes 280 CE Coupe to my current one, an S Class Cabriolet S560. To begin with, I just received the magazines, which I absolutely love. Karen keeps nagging me as I have stored up 5 years worth of back copies. My working life was too busy to participate too much in Club life. I ran a heating and plumbing contracting business and officially retired a few years ago, although I still keep my hand in doing a few surveys for the company. But Karen and I went along to a Xmas lunch that Colin and Pat organised a few years ago, and we were struck by the camaraderie within the Club. We then started to go to a few events organised and have been regulars at the pub lunches and evenings before CoVid which have now restarted. Now I am giving up my Rotary work, I feel that I can give more time to the Club as I love my Mercedes although I do confess that it only comes out of the garage when the sun is out and there is no salt on the road!! I am lucky to be supported by my wife Karen, who will no undoubtedly be called upon to use her administration skills.
